This debut album from RING member Morten Fuglesande is also our first strictly dungeon synth work. Like the collaboration with Inge Økset, Fuglesande is here preoccupied with the folk magic of the Scandinavian black books. Unlike the Faustian fatalism of hermetic and ceremonial practice, the black books portray magic used by peasants, farmers and everyday people for practical purposes. We members of the RING are, of course, proponents of this approach, and we are grateful for Fuglesande's foraging for swallow stones and eagle's tongues.
