From a time lost between stones, henge monoliths remember songs that drift among them now but as smoke. Gelid Fane finds a genre space which can best be termed “castle folk”, the sound is born out of the sparse, dark aesthetics of dungeon synth and folk’s melancholy romanticism. This release is meant to act as a portal to a lost era, a time of vastly different spirituality, though in no way idealized, it is a gate into a dark age.
